{about}

Hi!  The idea behind Pointalicious is simple: I share what I find to be delicious snack and meal ideas in the context of the Weight Watchers SmartPoints system.  The term "recipe" is used loosely here.  Some of my "recipes" are simply a compilation of a few ingredients and the associated SmartPoints value.  I try not to bore you with frivolous or overly-personal commentary.  Instead, I share my ideas with fellow Weight Watchers with the hope of making our points-based food lives more delicious!

The abridged version of who I am...  Wife.  Homeschooling mother of two.  Almost 40 (eeek!).  Weight Watchers diet follower since May 2016.  I have lost just over 10 pounds in my first month following the Weight Watchers diet.  Since my teenage years, I have gained and lost the same 20 pounds several times.  After having children, those 20 turned into 25.  During the journey of having two kids, I gained and lost these 25 pounds a couple of times.  I have tried a variety of "diets"--low fat, Paleo, and others--all of which have proven to be too restrictive.  Weight Watchers has afforded me the flexibility I crave in terms of the foods I can choose to eat.  I am rarely hungry (and, for the most part, I don't use my Weekly SmartPoints).  I love to cook, but I often like to keep things simple, too--especially when it comes to snacks.

You should know...  I am not a doctor or a nutritionist.  I am not a Weight Watchers expert.  I am new at this.  While the Weight Watchers diet seems to work for me in terms of weight loss, I can't encourage or discourage the diet for others.  Any decisions regarding your diet are highly personal and should be made between you and your doctor.  I use the Weight Watchers website and/or mobile application to calculate SmartPoints values.  I strongly urge you to verify these calculations on your own.  Brands vary.  Points values may change.  I am a human being and make mistakes.

Enough said.  Welcome, and thanks for reading!
